This is a record of the subliminal messaging embedded in the first moments of Season 1, Episode 0.1 The relevant video footage begins, at approximately seven seconds into the program, with a number of transition frames for “forward masking”2, and continues with a subliminal sequence of emotionally charged profiling terms flashed as text items on screen for approximately 33 to 34 milliseconds per item. 3
I captured the video using a high resolution LCD monitor4 and video capturing software.5 I then produced the footage in video editing software 6 with a frame rate of 29.971 fps.
I used open source video editing software7 to extract the relevant footage as still frames, to record the time codes for each frame in terms down to milliseconds, and to summarize the technical information on my captured and produced video:
