[00:00:47.563] [Speaker identified as: FOUNDER, ENCOUNTER WORLD RELIGIONS] 2
JW Windland: It is with great pride I count among my friend a number of parishioners and ministers of Scientology.
And it is with equal pride today I witness you writing yet another chapter in your enduring story with this new Ideal Org.
[Applause]
My initial experience with Scientology was some 20 years ago when I requested permission to bring my university classes to encounter firsthand the setting of a local Church.
Without hesitation my request was met with gracious reception. Your willingness to open your doors and your commitment to religious literacy has always been impressive.
And now, with this most remarkable Ideal Org in Cambridge, it’s an entirely new encounter and a new world.
[Applause]
You can certainly expect to be seeing me often and seeing my classes.
[Applause]
[00:02:08.533] [Speaker identified as “CO-FOUNDER, CANADIAN MULTICULTURAL COUNCIL.” Name not given.] 3
Here in Ontario we have a true diverse community. We count people of more than 200 nationalities. What I’ve seen time and time again from the Church of Scientology, is that you you truly embrace all people.
You deliver to every community and every culture and you serve every need confronting your society.
So yes, I would say, you are certainly a model for indiscriminate giving.
[Applause]
As a Scout Leader, I take pride in living the Scout Promise, to God, the Queen and do a good turn for somebody every day.” You are out in the city doing good turns for everyone you meet every day.
You can clap your hands.
[Applause]
L. Ron Hubbard spoke supreme truth when he said, “A being is as valuable as he can serve others.”
He gave so much to humanity through his life.
And as a fellow Scout, I respect one who keeps to the pledge to help others.
He was a leader for Man.
And as a man, he gave all he had and brought people together–
look at you.
[Applause]
[00:03:32.053] [MP Derek Lee identified as “MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT CANADA”. Name not given. ]4
MP Derek Lee: I am very, very happy for the same reasons that you are, to be here for the opening of this Ideal Org in Cambridge.
[Applause]
I was at a Tim Horton’s coffee shop this morning and I’m talking to a guy and I said, “Cambridge seems to have a lot going for it.”
“It’s got this great highway running right by here, Highway 401.”
“It’s connected to Montreal and Detroit and the rest of the continent.”
“Yeah, yeah, it’s there, yeah, we got that.”
And I said, “You got an auto plant.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah we got an auto plant.”
“I mean, cities die to get auto plants.”
“Cambridge has got one.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
“A world-class innovation center up at the boys at Research In Motion.”
“Yeah, we got that.”
“Canada’s best agricultural land surrounding it.”
“Yeah, yeah, we got all of that.”
“You’re an hour away from Canada’s largest airport.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.”
It’s got to be the luckiest city in the world to have this new Ideal Org opening.
And I’m sure Cambridge knows that now, but if they didn’t know it, it won’t take them long.
[Applause]
I understand that 2012 was a very big year for Scientology.
[Applause]
So, here today in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, you’re lighting the fire for 2013, and I wish you all every success in making 2013 your biggest year ever.
[Applause]
[Ribbon cutting, balloons, confetti.]
