Subject: Active duty with full pay and allowances – charge-able against appropriation, “Pay, Subsistence and Transportation of Naval Personnel”.

(A) Affidavit re pension or disability allowance.
(B) N. Nav. 17.1. In accordance with the references you will proceed for physical examination as directed in the first endorsement hereon. If found not physically qualified, you will proceed to your home and consider further directions herein cancelled. If found physically qualified you will proceed and report for active duty as indicated below:
To New York, New York, and to the Commandant, Third Naval District, on November 24, 1941, for temporary active duty under instruction. Upon completion of the course of instruction, on or about December 19, 1941, when directed by the Commandant, Third Naval District, you will be detached; proceed to San Francisco, California, and report to the Commandant, Twelfth Naval District, on January 3, 1942, for further temporary active duty awaiting arrival of the S.S. PRESIDENT JACKSON. When directed by the Commandant, Twelfth Naval District, you will be detached; take passage to Cavite, P. I., via the PRESIDENT JACKSON, departing January 9, 1942. Upon arrival in Cavite, P. I., you will further proceed and report to the Commandant, Sixteenth Naval District, for active duty.
2. Delay in reporting to the Commandant, Twelfth Naval District, San Francisco, California, will count as leave.
3. The Secretary of the Navy has determined that this employment on shore duty beyond the seas is required by the public interests.
