I just came across a FAQ item on “Scientology Canada’s” web site asking and answering the question, “What does “Suppressive Person” mean?”1
The Scientologists’ answer is dishonest and deceiving. The question is legitimate, but the Scientologists’ answer is false. It is also hateful and inflammatory. I have no doubt that Scientology’s ecclesiarchs, the Scientologists who run the religion and control Scientology Canada’s site, know their answer is false, and intend it to be hateful and inflammatory.
I will deal with it sentence-by-sentence, to leave no concept or words ignored or unchallenged. Probably I will contact Scientology Canada and some of the cult’s hierarchy directly, certainly its head David Miscavige, and suggest what they can do about it. There is also the possibility of a complaint to the Canadian Human Rights Commission or other legal action.
The Scientologists under Scientology founder and then cult head L. Ron Hubbard officially declared me a “Suppressive Person” or “SP” in 1982. They have treated or handled me as an SP ever since. I have written and spoken publicly many times about the Scientologists’ Suppressive Person doctrine, and I have represented the Suppressive Person class for many years in an effort to bring to light and opprobrium this terrible doctrine. I have standing to address the Scientologists and their collaborators as I’m doing here, and pursue a remedy. The “Suppressive Person Defense League” site, which my wife Caroline Letkeman and I have maintained over several years, is a good place to start to understand what “Suppressive Person” actually means.2
scientology.ca: WHAT DOES “SUPPRESSIVE PERSON” MEAN?
A Suppressive Person (SP) is a person who seeks to suppress other people in their vicinity.
Obviously, the common definition of the English words “suppressive” and “person” would lead to an understanding that a “Suppressive Person” is a person who suppresses or seeks to suppress. Even without the Scientologists limiting the victims of SPs’ supposed suppression to “other people,” “Suppressive Person” is an automatically negative term. No one hearing the term is going to think “Suppressive Persons” might be suppressing coughs, or forest fires, or an Ebola outbreak.
The term is censorious as “Dangerous Persons” (“DPs”), or “Evil Persons” (“EPs”), or “Idiotic Persons” (“IPs”) would be for denominations of classes of human beings. Labeling us “Suppressive Persons” is false on its face and scandalous. Identifying the class with the term’s common dictionary definitions, as the Scientologists do, is also infantile. It’s like asking, “Who or what is in the Dangerous Person class?” Or what does “Dangerous Person” mean?” And answering, “A Dangerous Person (DP) is a person who seeks to endanger other people in their vicinity.”
Contrary to what the Scientologists say, Suppressive Persons, SPs, as a class, and all the individual SPs I’ve ever known, have nothing to do with suppressing other people. The Scientologists accusing us – we SPs in the SP class — of suppressing other people is an instance of the policy and practice Hubbard called “black propaganda” or “black PR.” It is manufacturing and disseminating false and defamatory information about a person to destroy his reputation, credibility, relationships, opportunities and livelihood. Black PR functions as religious tenet and sacrament. It is also a Scientology religious artifact, the remains or relics of what comes out of the mouths or the computers of the Scientologists in their sacramental vilifying of SPs.
SPs are a religious class created and described by Hubbard in his scripture. Following is an excerpt from a letter I recently wrote to reach Leah Remini, who for some reason is still black PRing SPs as central Scientologists do.
February 19, 2019
Dear Ms. Remini:
I am writing about your presentation of the Scientologists’ “Suppressive Person” doctrine, or “SP” doctrine, in your Aftermath series. As you know, I represent the SP Class, and my wife Caroline and I maintain a Suppressive Person Defense League site: http://suppressiveperson.org/
I have been a declared SP since 1982 and Caroline since 2001. I have written extensively about the SP doctrine, spoken about it publicly, and testified about it in legal proceedings.
“Fair Game,” I am sure you know, is the euphemism L. Ron Hubbard coined for the treatment or handling of the SP class, or the execution of the SP doctrine. What the Scientologists call “fair game” is actually a criminal conspiracy against rights and persons.
I have been “fair game” since 1982; that is, I have been for all these years the victim of a criminal conspiracy against my rights and person. As you know, Mike Rinder, your co-producer and costar, is a long time fair gamer, a conspirator targeting me, people acting in concert with me, and other persons in the SP class.
SPs are a religious class sourced in religious scripture by religion founder and religion head Hubbard. What makes an SP an SP, according to Scientology scripture is the commission of “Suppressive Acts.” These acts are listed in scripture, and, although they include a couple of wog world felonies (Hubbard mentions murder and arson), they are largely sacramental religious activities. To the Scientologists, it must be said, murder and arson, and any other crime, is not a suppressive act but an act of honor if committed against an SP, like me.
From a legal and theological understanding, and to the Hubbardist Scientologists, the sacraments that SPs perform are heretical. To SPs, from a legal and theological understanding, and my own long experience and acquired knowledge, these sacraments and their performance are canonical and constitutionally protected religious exercise.
There are several pages of these “Suppressive Acts” in Scientology scripture, and I will not further identify or explain them at this time. In practical terms, and in large part, these come down to or involve telling the truth about something concerning Hubbard, Scientology or Scientologists that the conspirators running Scientology don’t want told.
Scientologists, for example, are directed and drilled to “disseminate,” which is the sacrament of talking to wogs about Hubbard, Scientology and Scientologists. SPs do the same thing, perform the same sacrament. SPs talk about Hubbard, Scientology and Scientologists; and their colluders, of course. To the Scientologists, SPs just perform the Dissemination Sacrament wrongly, heretically.3
scientology.ca: A Suppressive Person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent.
No, SPs will not do any of that. This is a willful lie, unadulterated, indefensible black PR, in fact libel. Because SPs are a demonstrable religious class, the Scientologists’ statement is equivalent to charging that:
- A Christian Person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent;
- A Jewish Person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent;
- A Gentile will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent;
- An Apostate will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent.
The Scientologists have no evidence that SPs act this way, and the cult seniors who ordered this language know that they have no such evidence and are lying. On the other hand, the Scientologists, as a group and by policy, work assiduously, albeit largely covertly, to prevent SPs from getting any help, or becoming empowered or otherwise succeeding in life.
Hubbard wrote in Scientology scripture we could be “deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist…tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.” He euphemized these vicious, criminal actions against SPs — the persons who dared to practice the sacrament of telling the truth about something Hubbard didn’t want the truth told about — as “fair game.”
Hubbard ordered Scientologists to draw up programs to cost us our jobs; threaten what we want to protect; use what is of value to us to restrain us. He ordered them to cut off our communications, funds and connections; deprive us of political advantages, connections and power; take over our territory; raid and harass us; fight us on the basis of our total attrition; just go all the way in and obliterate us.
He ordered Scientologists to drive public opinion into a frenzy of hate against us; use wartime propaganda on us; accuse us of atrocity; and treat us as war criminals. We SPs, he said, were to be positioned and smeared as whatever in public opinion was hated; our image was to be degraded to beast level.4
It can be shown by such scriptural directives, and by a wealth of evidence of their implementation, that Scientologists organize for the purposes of goofing up SPs’ lives; vilifying us without reason or restraint; and doing to us whatever Hubbard ordered. Official personnel in Scientology have the specific function of silencing or destroying us, and they spend staggering sums on professional abettors to get that unlawful product. Other Scientologists not directly assigned to our silencing or destruction support them with their money, time, abilities and dedication.
The Scientologists are limited in carrying out their intentions and programs to silence or destroy SPs by the Scientologists’ own knowledge that their goals are criminal; by their fear of prosecution; and by the growing public awareness of those criminal intentions and programs.
scientology.ca: The Suppressive Person is also known as the Anti-Social Personality.
Certainly the Scientologists “know” that the SP is also known as the “antisocial personality.” That is because the Scientologists say it. That positioning or equation is a key element in the Scientologists’ global black PR campaign against the SP class. I dealt with this in an opening statement for a debate on this issue with Mark Rathbun in 2013.5
He had smeared SPs as sociopaths or psychopaths in his 2013 book Memoirs of a Scientology Warrior. I objected, stated my position, and suggested a debate on his claims about SPs. Rathbun agreed, I gave my opening statement, and his handlers apparently pulled him back from further engagement. That reaction was not surprising because the SP doctrine, while being easily shown as evil, is logically indefensible. The Scientologists’ standard “defense” of the SP doctrine is to lie about what it is and then “explain” and “support” the lie. This is a fake defense. It is what the Scientologists are doing in the subject Q & A on the Scientology Canada site.
Because of my long involvement in the SP issue, and the continuing need to do something about the SP doctrine, I will probably try to reach as many Scientology corporations or affiliated entities and as many cultists as I can. My experience tells me not to expect the people at Scientology Canada or Scientologists anywhere to logically engage about their SP doctrine, or about anything I’ve written here. Nevertheless, I believe it is good to seek such engagement, and valuable to make a record of doing so. The Scientologists’ usual response to my communications, no matter how logical or accurate, is to continue to treat me as a sociopath, psychopath, antisocial personality, irredeemably destructive and dangerous, below reason, and a legitimate target for pursuit and attack.
It would be wonderful if some Scientologists woke up to how wrong, cruel and dangerous the doctrine is that they have been living by and making others live by. It would be a blessing if the Scientologists then rejected it, and even adopted a better doctrine. It would be wonderful if some spoke up, renounced the doctrine, and embraced the persons in the SP class they had hated and victimized in Scientology. That would be a Damascus Road moment.
All such wonderfulnesses, however, are in God’s Great Hands. My part has been, I think is obvious, to communicate as called; be willing to logically engage and be hated and “fair gamed” for telling the truth; make a record; provide my contact information; and suit up. It would be wonderful if someone from Scientology Canada, or any Scientologist from anywhere else, stood up and did something similar.
It is utterly false that SPs are the same thing as antisocial personalities. It is false that we are known outside of Scientology — or beyond the Scientologists’ lies about us — as the same thing as the “Antisocial Personality.” Equating us with antisocial persons is defamatory; it is ugly black PR, and standard in Scientology.
We are no more Antisocial Personalities than Christians, Jews, Gentiles, Unitarians or Agnostics are Antisocial Personalities. There is probably the same percentage of Antisocial Personalities among these religions or religious classes as among the Suppressive Person class. It is the essence of religious bigotry and extremism to paint a religious class like ours as being a mass of Antisocial Personalities.
In fact, for the very reason that it is commonly the easy and pleasant sacrament of telling the truth about religious matters that triggers the anathematizing of people as SPs, it is likely that an unusually low percentage of people with an antisocial personality disorder are among us. Additionally, the fact that SPs tell such truth despite knowing that the Scientologists will target us for silencing or destruction for doing so would indicate a conscienceful rather than a conscienceless condition.
scientology.ca: Within this category one finds Napoleon, Hitler, the unrepentant killer and the drug lord.
Certainly within the psychiatric category of Antisocial Personality Disorder one would expect to find Napoleons, Hitlers, unrepentant killers and drug lords. SPs, however, are not Antisocial Personalities. And saying that within the SP category or class one finds Napoleon, Hitler, the unrepentant killer and the drug lord, is very sick, very black propaganda.
scientology.ca: But if such are easily spotted, if only from the bodies they leave in their wake, Anti-Social Personalities also commonly exist in current life and often go undetected.
No doubt the persons the Scientologists identify – Napoleon, Hitler, the unrepentant killer and the drug lord – have left bodies in their wake and can now be easily spotted. There is no doubt as well that Antisocial Personalities exist in current life and often go undetected.
SPs also exist in current life, and often go undetected, except, crucially, by the Scientologists. Scientology leaders proclaim us SPs by name, traditionally by an official decree called a “Suppressive Person Declare.” They use their underlings and outside hirelings and other resources to target us for treatment or handling in execution of Scientology’s SP doctrine. This statement from Scientology Canada lying about what an SP is and smearing us is an action and a product in the Scientologists’ SP “fair gaming” program. The Scientologists and their agents hunt us down, stake us out, bore into our lives and connections, and send detectives after us. So the Scientologists rarely let us ever go undetected for very long.
To other human beings, who are not Scientologists, however, SPs are virtually undetectable, and also unclassable. The people who tell the relevant truth about Hubbard, Scientology or Scientologists, which is SPs’ most common “High Crime,” are people who learned something that should be spoken up about and then spoke up. We could look like anybody.
Again, however, SPs, the persons the Scientologists declare “Suppressive Persons,” are not Antisocial Personalities. Reasonably aware citizens recognize persons with Antisocial Personality Disorder as dangerous because of that condition. No one with ordinary reasoning powers, other than Scientologists, recognizes SPs as dangerous for telling the relevant truth about Hubbard, Scientology, etc.
The Scientologists, however, black PR SPs as dangerous and treat or handle us as if we are dangerous. In their SP doctrine, the Scientologists teach that we are the truly destructive, truly psychotic and truly criminal of the world, the cause of illness, at the root of every bad condition, and deserving no civil rights. Scientology leaders know their black PR on SPs is false, know that we are none of these things.
The Scientologists, moreover, do not declare or victimize actual Antisocial Personalities. The Scientologists only declare and victimize SPs — persons who tell the relevant truth, and are no real danger to anyone, other than to the cult leaders who deal in lies, control others with lies, and can’t handle the truth.
scientology.ca: The basic reason the Suppressive Person behaves as he or she does lies in a hidden terror of others.
This is perverse. Again, SPs’ behavior — the sacramental performance, which, by Scientology scripture and by its leaders’ orders, identifies us as SPs — is commonly telling the truth about something Hubbard or Miscavige or their co-conspirators seek to keep secret. Also again, because of the real threat of being treated or handled as an SP, of being “fair gamed” if we speak up, it is much more likely that the basic reason a person behaves this way lies in his or her God-given courage, not in a hidden terror of others. Ascribing SPs’ motivation to hidden terror of others is black propaganda.
scientology.ca: To such a person every other being is an enemy, an enemy to be covertly or overtly destroyed.
This is deranged black PR. There is no evidence that SPs as a class, or as individuals in the class, consider every other being is an enemy; let alone an enemy to be covertly or overtly destroyed. SPs very likely consider other beings are their friends or enemies much as a cross-section of the rest of non-Scientology humanity considers others friends or enemies. Some SPs have some enemies; some have more than others, I’m sure. But I have never met an SP to whom every other person is an enemy.
It is true that I have an astronomical number of enemies, many thousands of them. Every Scientologist and their collaborators pretty well are compelled to consider me an enemy. Their scripture dictates that if any Scientologist communicated to me or about me uninimically, he or she would be declared an SP and be treated as an enemy. Such a daring Scientologist would be telling the truth about something or someone the cult’s leaders cannot experience having the truth told about.
Most of the Scientologists and their colluders who consider me an enemy I’ve never met, and don’t even know their names. But they know my name, they know my face, and to them I am an enemy. To them, to the Scientologists and their collaborators, every SP is an enemy.
Although, just by being a long-living, long-communicating SP, I have an inordinate number of enemies, it does not mean or even suggest that I consider every other being, all the human beings in the world, are enemies. There are billions more people in the world, in fact, thanks be to God, who do not see me as an enemy than the otherwise shocking multitude who do see me as an enemy. The Scientologists’ universal enmity toward me is sad and sobering, but is nothing I can of myself do anything about.
Also, although every Scientologist and all of their myriad collaborators might consider me an enemy, I have no desire to destroy any of them, overtly or covertly or any other way. The Scientologists and their collaborators might seek to destroy me, but I still will have no desire to destroy them.
The description the Scientologists give to what they say is SPs’ mental condition — that to us every other being is an enemy to be destroyed — roughly approximates the description psychiatric science gives to paranoia. Persons suffering from Paranoid Personality Disorder present generalized and irrational suspiciousness, mistrust or fear of others. It is clear that with their SP doctrine and its pervasive policing and enforcement, Scientology leaders generate such a functional disorder in their underlings. Although Scientologists everywhere hate SPs like me and see us as “the enemy,” it probably can be established that the Scientologists’ fear, of one thing or another, underlies their enmity.
Poignantly, in the judgment after trial in the first of six lawsuits the Scientologists have filed against me, the court observed the cult’s paranoia:
The organization clearly is schizophrenic and paranoid, and this bizarre combination seems to be a reflection of its founder LRH. The evidence portrays a man who has been virtually a pathological liar when it comes to his history, background, and achievements. The writings and documents in evidence additionally reflect his egoism, greed, avarice, lust for power, and vindictiveness and aggressiveness against persons perceived by him to be disloyal or hostile. — Scientology vs. Armstrong, Los Angeles Superior Court case no. C 420153 affirmed on appeal, 232 Cal.App.3d 1060, 283 Cal.Rptr. 9176
scientology.ca: The fixation is that survival itself depends on “keeping others down” or “keeping people ignorant.”
This is nonsense, black PR, and a standard projection of what the Scientologists themselves are doing. No SPs think, much less are fixated on the idea, that their survival depends on idiocies like keeping others down or keeping people ignorant. SPs are declared and victimized because we spoke up about what Hubbard, Miscavige and their ecclesiastical inquisitors wanted to keep people ignorant of. The ecclesiarchs, using Scientologists’ religious tax-deductible donations in religious corporation accounts, have paid millions of dollars, obtained unlawful court orders, bankrupted me, threatened me, run covert ops on me, criminally framed me, all to silence me and keep people ignorant of what I say.
The easy truth is that I want everyone to be lifted up, and I want everyone to possess whatever knowledge they need to be lifted up. It is clear by my writings, talks, web sites, and testimony over many years that I want others to have the experiences and knowledge I have. I have made my communications easily understandable and available.
Just what I’m communicating here demonstrates an absence of desire to keep people ignorant. I am openly challenging the Scientologists, and welcome their best response. With their false answer to their own question, “What does “Suppressive Person” mean?” the Scientologists demonstrate that they actively and willfully seek to keep the SP class down. The Scientologists use calculated, frightful black PR to achieve that antisocial goal.
The Scientologists work very hard to keep people ignorant of the truth-telling SPs’ experiences and knowledge. These are experiences and knowledge that might assist people to be lifted up, potentially at least, out of some of the Scientologists’ lies, false promises and false prophecies, and out of their victimization of the SP class. The leaders seek to keep their juniors and others ignorant of the freeing truth SPs are communicating in order to keep their juniors and others down, and under control.
The leaders’ words and actions to keep Scientologists and others down and ignorant is inarguably for the leaders’ survival. The leaders need their control of Scientology money to survive, and they need to control the enterprise that makes all the money. They need to keep it working. They need their conspiracy against rights to survive, and they need to get away with what they’ve gotten away with. What they’ve gotten away with is fraud on a massive scale, crimes against persons and classes, and violations of human rights and public policy.
scientology.ca: If anyone were to promise to make others stronger or brighter, the Suppressive Person would suffer the utmost agony.
What a crock! I have never observed any SP behave this way. I can speak both for myself and for the SP class, having known many SPs and been our representative for several years.
Speaking from my own experience, I have never suffered the utmost agony upon hearing that someone could make others stronger or brighter, or upon hearing someone actually had made others stronger or brighter. I have had headaches, ear aches, sprains, broken ribs, a 4-carat kidney stone, all of which surpassed any agony I can even imagine anyone suffering from others getting stronger or brighter. It would also be wrong to say I didn’t feel glad actually to see others, everyone, made stronger and brighter. I’m even glad when I’m made stronger and brighter myself.
Because the Scientologists have introduced the matter of making others stronger or brighter, it is appropriate that I disclose my sincere belief that God is the Source of strength and the Source of intelligence, illumination, elucidation or education or whatever makes a person brighter. I know that humans of every sort can be used for strength or brightening but God is doing it. Without Him we could do nothing; at least nothing like making others stronger or brighter. I even say this because I want people to be stronger and brighter.
scientology.ca: Because of this, the Suppressive Person seeks to upset, continuously undermine, spread bad news about and denigrate betterment activities and groups.
More black PR. SPs as a class do not do these things and certainly hold no ill will toward betterment activities and groups. Many SPs participate in and benefit from betterment activities and groups. In all the years I’ve been a declared SP, I have benefited from thousands of betterment activities or groups, I’ve encouraged others about betterment activities and groups, and I’ve been gladdened thousands of times when others have benefited from such activities and groups.
scientology.ca: Thus the Anti-Social Personality is also against what Scientology is about—helping people become more able and improving conditions in society.
It might be a common characteristic of people with Antisocial Personality Disorder that they are against helping people become more able and improving conditions in society. But I don’t know. I don’t know of any scientific study or evidence that makes that claim, and the Scientologists have provided no support for it.
It is largely irrelevant, however, what Antisocial Personalities’ attitude might be toward helping people and improving conditions. This is because SPs, the SP class that is at issue here, are not Antisocial Personalities. The Scientologists have nothing, other than their own lies, to support their assertion that SPs – as a class, or as individuals in the class – are against helping people become more able or improving conditions in society.
scientology.ca: As anyone can think of many examples of a Suppressive Person, this concept is not limited to Scientology.
Horse pucky. SPs are created as a religious class in Scientology scripture. Outside of Scientology, the term is irrelevant, except where the Scientologists’ nasty black PR of SPs has reached through human society. There are, however, no identified examples of SPs, as the Scientologists say, being against helping people become more able and improving conditions in society.
scientology.ca: However, when such a person is connected to Scientology, for the good of the Church and the individuals in it, such a person is officially labeled a Suppressive Person so that others will know not to associate with them.
This is false. SPs are not “such a person.” We are not against helping people or against improving societal conditions. There’s a very good chance that those of us who had been Scientologists got into the cult in great part because we wanted to help people and improve conditions. Hubbard and his agents, after all, were promising that Scientology was a “science,” an “applied philosophy,” a “religion” that did exactly that. It had, they said, a “technology,” a “system” to do exactly that, and did not require faith or belief. Hubbard stressed in basic scripture that Scientology is a workable system. And not just a workable system, he told us; but before Scientology man had never evolved a workable system, and that it is doubtful he ever will evolve one.
Hubbard and the Scientologists, moreover, do not claim merely that their system works to help people become more able and improve conditions in society. They claim their system delivers “total freedom,” “super powers,” “genius IQs,” “sterling ethics,” “truth,” “justice,” “control” and “the way to happiness.” SPs speak up about Hubbard and the Scientologists’ slave tactics, their fraud, their ignorance, their immorality, dishonesty, injustice, sadism, the unhappiness they cause, the families they destroy, the lives they ruin, their offense unto the Divine.
The Scientologists do indeed label people SPs, and black PR them as Antisocial Personalities, or worse, so that others will know not to associate with them. This is not, however, for the good of the people who are being prohibited from associating with the SPs. It is to the detriment of the people the cult heads are keeping away from the SPs. It is to prevent these people from hearing the experiences, knowledge and truth we SPs communicate. Labeling us SPs, black PRing us and preventing people from listening to us is for the cult leaders’ survival, to help them hold their wealth, power and control, and keep Scientologists working for them.
scientology.ca: To be declared a Suppressive Person is extremely rare and results in expulsion from the Scientology religion.
Declaring people SPs is a disgusting practice used for antisocial purposes by very venal persons, the Scientologists’ own leaders. It is not extremely rare at all, nor even a bit rare. Declaring people SP is a common Scientology practice. People declared SP are legion; although in recent years, the Miscavige Scientologists have often not widely published or distributed formal SP Declares. The obvious reason is because the public has been gradually gathering how diabolical these documents are and how detestable the SP doctrine is. SP declares actually create causes of action for libel and emotional distress claims.
The fact that the Miscavige regimers might now hide most of their orders declaring people SP does not mean that such orders are not routine, ubiquitous, and just as harmful. Most declaring of SPs is done by Miscavige and his regime in secret, just as much of their fair gaming of SPs is done: by secret orders to secret juniors to secretly hire people to secretly hire others to goof up our lives, destroy our betterment activities, etc.
Even more common than the practice of declaring people SP, is the cult leaders’ practice of threatening people with being declared SP. I am sure there are Scientologists who survive in a relatively constant state of fear of “being declared.” Threatening people with declaring them SP and making them “fair game” targets – if they disobey; if they don’t praise the dear leader; if they think of telling the truth he and his regime want to suppress – is extortion. The controlling Scientologists, with outside colluders, operate a protection racket as US Federal Government-supported religion.
From a 2009 talk, “Scientology, the Dangerous Environment Racket:”
Miscavige does the same. He and his racketeers make a dangerous environment, both inside and outside of Scientology and populate it with evil SPs, to protect Scientologists from. Every Scientologist studies, accepts and applies Hubbard’s scriptural statements that make the environment, or actually the people in it, unconfrontably dangerous, and generate threat that makes the environment even more dangerous. Miscavige enforces Hubbard’s scriptures and his dangerous-environment-making, often very threatening, dictates.7
An SP declare probably does result in expulsion from the cult, because an SP declare is an expulsion order. Expulsion is, however, the most unimportant action that can result from a declare. The declare itself is defamatory, but we non-cultists have no say and no real interest in what the Scientologists and their rulers say about us within their walls. A declare, however, is a step to enemy actions outside their walls, the multifarious ways the Scientologists, with all their detailed programs, their wealth, their fanatics and their outside mercenaries, can fair game us.
scientology.ca: This occurs in instances of serious offenses against the Scientology faith and can also occur when an individual is found to be actively working to suppress the well-being of others.
As is easily shown, the most “serious” “offenses” that motivate the cult leaders to issue SP declares are the “offenders” speaking up and telling the truth about Hubbard, Scientology and Scientologists, and, doubtlessly, their colluders and their victims. This is truth as basic as the truth that Scientology does not, as advertised, work. This is truth the leaders want suppressed. They know from Scientology’s history, and from their own history in Scientology, that the truth about these things could set the people they control free. The Scientology leaders’ claimed concern for the well-being of these people is fake. The leaders want to keep them ensnared in their networks of lies and liars.
In a 1959 discourse Hubbard called “My Philosophy,” which is one of his most well known in Scientology scripture, he quoted Christ Jesus’ famous commandment, “the truth shall set you free.” Hubbard implied that on that point he and Jesus agreed. For more context, the Bible passage this comes from says:
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. — (John 8: 31, 32, KJV)
Hubbard continued in “My Philosophy:”
Therefore, in Scientology we are not concerned with individual actions and differences. We are only concerned with how to show Man how he can set himself or herself free.
This, of course, is not very popular with those who depend upon the slavery of others for their living or power. But it happens to be the only way I have found that really improves an individual’s life.8
His professed dedication to the truth and to freeing us with it – from “the trap,” from “the reactive mind,” from the human condition, from “misinformation,” from “insanity,” from “criminals,” from “war,” from illness, from “implants,” from death, from our “prison planet,” from “SPs” – was instrumental in getting me into his cult and keeping me under his control for so many years.
Then, however, I would find out that Hubbard lied about all sorts of things, and he was lying about the truth. The truth, as Christ Jesus meant it, and in the context in which he used it, does set people free. It could be said that what Hubbard was promising his truth would set us free from was quite similar to the evils or conditions from which Jesus had said truth would free us. Hubbard’s claimed dedication to the truth, and his claim to be freeing us, however, were willful lies. Worse, he went and made others go to extreme, in fact criminal, lengths, to silence or destroy SPs, who really might tell the truth that would set Hubbard and Scientologists’ captives free.
scientology.ca: This can be done through criminal acts already recognized by society as unlawful or through the commitment of acts deemed Suppressive Acts in the Scientology Justice Codes—which includes the Suppressive Act of publicly renouncing the faith, an act which in Scientology, as well as almost every religion, is grounds for automatic expulsion.
It is true that in his list of “Suppressive Acts” or “High Crimes,” Hubbard included acts recognized as “criminal” by “society,” such as arson or murder. SPs are not, however, committing these criminal acts. SPs are telling some truth that Hubbard was unwilling to experience being told, and his cult successors are unwilling to experience. For perverse purposes, Hubbard and the Scientologists lump these serious societal crimes in with all the offenses SPs actually commit that are mere sacrament performance flubs or heresies. Society does not recognize SPs’ offenses as crimes, misdemeanors or even errors. In fact, sane society necessarily encourages SPs’ actions that Hubbard called High Crimes.
Equating crimes such as arson and murder with social acts like telling the truth is to generate the idea that such social acts, which are really only the safe performance of undangerous religious rites, are as deadly and serious as society’s felonies, even capital crimes. Equating known beastly crimes in Hubbard’s list of “Suppressive Acts” with SPs’ offenses helps black PR them as criminal beasts deserving of being fair gamed and destroyed.
There really is no disagreement that publicly renouncing Scientology is probably a legitimate ground for expulsion from the cult. Public renunciation of a religion, after all, is simply self-expulsion. Renouncing Scientology even as one’s criminal enterprise is probably all that the crime bosses would need to legitimately expel, excommunicate or defrock their gang renunciants. The religion adding a formal expulsion in the form of an SP declare after the renunciant has gone public is locking the prison door after the prisoner has bolted. Because the captive has publicly announced he’s free, the cult’s leaders then saying they are kicking him out or expelling him is pathetic, regressive revenge. If Scientology were not a criminal enterprise they would wish the renunciant Godspeed.
Regardless of any logic in issuing an expulsion order on a person publicly renouncing Scientology, there is no logical justification for fair gaming him or her. Doing anything to silence or destroy or otherwise harm them, for the clear religious act of renouncing what the Scientologists call their “faith,” is criminal. Whether any other religionists do to their renunciants what the Scientologists do to their renunicants with the same set of facts, I do not know; but I very much doubt it. In any case, no matter what religion or cult, or religionists or cultists, are doing the same thing as the Scientologists, what they are doing is criminal.
scientology.ca: When someone has been expelled from the religion, that person loses both his or her fellowship with the Church as well as with other Scientologists.
The Scientologists directing the Scientology Canada site are referring to their notorious policy and practice of “Disconnection.” For the sadistic purposes of terrifying and keeping control of their juniors, and punishing SPs, the leaders break up families and relationships and cause untold, unjustifiable anguish. A declared SP does not actually lose his or her fellowship with other Scientologists, or friends, or family. This fellowship is ripped from the person and from friends and family members by spiteful Scientology leaders issuing cruel orders.
scientology.ca: The condition lasts until they have been restored to good standing.
That is right. I have been a formally declared SP, fair game, a major enemy since 1982. The Scientologists, under Hubbard and under Miscavige, have threatened me, victimized me, tried to silence or destroy me for thirty-seven years. I will never be restored to “good standing” in Scientology, and I will never want to be.
The Scientologists will never stop hating me and making others hate me, until they give up. They will never stop black PRing me and making others black PR me, never stop threatening me and getting others to threaten me, never stop trying to ruin me and getting others to ruin me, until they give up. It is up to the Scientologists to end their victimizing of SPs like me without the demented precondition that we first be restored to good standing. “Good standing” is not a good place to be in.
scientology.ca: Once the person has been restored to good standing, the prohibition against fellowship with other Scientologists is lifted.
Again, I will never be restored to good standing in the cult, and I do not believe that any SP I’ve ever known will be restored to good standing. The Scientologists’ condition for fellowship with family and anyone else is extortion. If SPs stop telling the truth about their experiences and knowledge of Hubbard, Scientology and Scientologists; if the SPs turn on other SPs and give them a good drubbing; and if the SPs do whatever other “amends” – money, labor, immorality – the cult leaders demand; then these leaders, whose commandments prohibit SPs’ families from communicating or fellowshipping with the SPs in their lives, will lift their prohibitions. This is the tech of vampires.
Although I left no family in Scientology when I spoke up and escaped, Caroline has a daughter and granddaughter in the cult that the leaders have ordered to disconnect. Caroline spent twenty-four years in Scientology. She spoke up. She actually wrote an excellent, thought-provoking essay. Cult leaders ordered her declared. Her daughter disconnected, and hasn’t communicated since. A few years later, her granddaughter was born, and is being raised and programmed disconnected. I’m the disconnected guy they’re taught is an evil stepfather or evil stepgrandfather. Disconnecting her daughter and granddaughter from Caroline, and compelling them to hate her and not grant her a crumb of credence is so sadistic it stuns. The persons ordering this behavior do it to feed their sadism, not for anyone’s well-being or betterment.
Keeping families broken up and relationships destroyed are actions by which the Scientologists can “prove” that they are “at cause.” Being at cause is, in Scientology, the desirable state. The stated goal of the sacrament the Scientologists call “auditing,” for which they pay enormous sums or peonize themselves for life, is to put them “at cause.” A “Clear,” the Scientologists claim in scripture, is “at cause knowingly and at will over mental matter, energy space and time.” An “Operating Thetan,” the topmost level or state among Scientologists, they claim, “is willing and knowing cause over life, thought, matter, energy space and time.”
Just as Scientologists consider being “at cause” as pro-survival and desirable, they consider being “at effect” contra-survival and undesirable. Victims of the Scientologists’ Disconnection program are quite clearly at effect. The Scientologists caused, in fact forced, the SPs’ family and fellows to disconnect from them. Cult leaders indoctrinate Scientologists to be at cause most specifically over SPs. The leaders run a course Scientology-wide teaching Scientologists to “shatter” SPs, which is an extremely at-cause intention and practice.
Cause Over Suppression Means Cause. Period.
[…]
Suppression. “…Well, I don’t think anyone likes suppression. Yet, just from the fact that one lives on this planet, there isn’t a single person who isn’t in contact with it. The question becomes whether he is at CAUSE or EFFECT.” And now, with the release of the fully body of PTS/SP Technology and the new PTS/SP Course in fifteen languages, tools to be at CAUSE have been put in more beings’ hands than ever.9
The SP, which Scientology Canada purports to define, is a person, most commonly, who tells the truth in one context or another – family, friends, media, police, courts, government – about what cult leaders want kept secret. They work through multiple channels to suppress the truth and silence or destroy truth-telling SPs. There is a monumental pile of times, places, forms and events the Scientologists are doing their damnedest to suppress. So there is much truth to tell and be heard.
“PTS,” stands for “Potential Trouble Source.” It means, in Scientology scripture, and in Scientologists’ relationships and life, “a person connected to a Suppressive Person.” “PTS” is also the “condition” a person is in if connected to an SP. PTS is a vital part of the SP doctrine. Hubbard states in scripture that two and a half percent of the planetary population are SPs. Seventeen and a half percent, he says, are PTS.
Hubbard wrote that “All sick persons are PTS. All [Scientologists] who […] regularly lose gains are PTS.”10 Such persons are standardly not permitted to continue in Scientology auditing or on courses or on key staff posts until they “handle” the SP they are connected to, or they disconnect from that SP. Many SPs, not much different from me, have been impossible for PTS Scientologists to handle as the cult’s leaders want us handled.
It is logical that SPs could be seen as causing Scientologists to lose their gains, and even causing them to doubt that Scientology is working. And it would also be logical for the cult’s leaders, thinking as criminals, to see such SP-connected persons as potential trouble sources, and move them away from other Scientologists and out of sensitive organization areas. The Scientologists see SPs as active sources of trouble, and PTSs, because of their connection to SPs, as potentially causing the same kind of trouble.
When LRH was asked who exactly should do the PTS/SP Course he said, “Every one of them. They live in the United States. They live in England. They have governments. They are on planet Earth”.
That’s because there’s only one thing wrong with this planet — suppressives who specialize in caving people in. They walk among us undetected, hiding behind masks of social veneer. And they use these masks while they spread confusion and enturbulation across the globe, into your own living room or your workplace.
But there’s a tech to shatter the façade, and reveal in vivid detail, the true face of suppression. Available in Scientology Academies around the world, the “How to Confront and Shatter Suppression” Course will arm you with the tech to shatter suppression and operate at cause.
The truths SPs tell — their criticisms — challenge the Scientologists’ leaders on their words and deeds. This often comes down to challenging the claims the leaders make and make others make, the lies they tell and make others tell. The leaders’ standard reactions to legitimate challenges are to declare the truth-tellers “Suppressive Persons;” treat Scientologists connected to them as PTS; make these Scientologists “handle or disconnect,” which almost always means only disconnect; get every other Scientologist to hate the SPs and grant us no credence; and order the troops and mercenaries to silence or destroy us.
The Scientology leaders’ reactions to legitimate challenges or criticisms show how false, how on-sinking-sand their whole system is. Their reactions to legitimate challenge are regressive and aggressive, and all of them together are criminal. They have paid millions to the cleverest, most power-playing lawyers and the most artful agents to give what the Scientologists do to SPs the color of law and the smell of rectitude. All the Scientology hirelings’ sophistication and brilliant use of the law against the SP class, however, does not reduce the Scientologists’ regression and savagery toward us.
In the regressed state, one does not love one’s neighbor as oneself. It’s probably difficult to love one’s neighbor as oneself, I don’t know. Nevertheless, people do recognize that it would be a desirable state, and even spend time seeking or experiencing it. The state is quite understandable, because the commandment to achieve the state is so easy and clear. Scientology’s leaders willfully refuse to love their neighbors as themselves. They spend huge sums to destroy their neighbors as religious purpose. They prevent everyone they control from loving their neighbors as themselves. Their neighbors cannot but be the SPs who walk among them, the SPs they fear, hate and victimize.
If the science in Scientology was not so pseudo, the Scientologists would welcome rational challenges. If the Scientologists were able to logically, factually and maturely respond to legitimate challenges to their philosophy, “technology,” practices, actions or words, they would not have to react as they do with illogical, dishonest and puerile bullying. Scientology is so fail, however, that it permits no way of responding to challenges, no way of responding to SPs’ truthful statements, except with unreason, lies, asininity, aggression and cruelty. The Scientologists’ antisocial reactions to legitimate challenges naturally generate more legitimate challenges, more things for the truth to be told about.
If Scientologists’ “gains” were not mere delusion, there is no way they could lose them by being connected to someone telling some truth or other or presenting legitimate challenges. As a rule, I welcome legitimate challenges, logical, factual, mature challenges to what I’ve said or claimed. I don’t welcome illogical, dishonest and puerile attacks, which are illegitimate challenges; but legitimate challenges, which take logic, facts and sincerity, are valuable.
The Scientology teaching that SPs cause Scientologists to lose their gains, or cause of the Scientologists’ illnesses or bad conditions, also teaches the Scientologists how weak they themselves are. The SP doctrine teaches Scientologists that they are so impotent and in such peril they should plug their ears to the truth and flee from the persons who might tell it. This fear mongering is part of the leaders’ protection racket, instilling in Scientologists a need for the protection Scientology promises. Scientologists’ “gains” can be shown to be regressed states that for everyone’s sake they should lose, not seek to make stable.
scientology.ca: Similar practices have been part of religious communities for thousands of years and have been recognized by courts of law as a fundamental right.
The Scientologists do not, with any specificity, identify their practices that they say are similar to practices that have been part of religious communities for thousands of years. When they have at times presented what they say are their practices regarding SPs, the Scientologists have foisted on everyone fake practices. Scientology Canada is doing this in their Q&A. The relevant Scientology practices here are all those motivated by or rooted in the SP doctrine.
I have little knowledge of what religious communities have existed over thousands of years of planetary history. Regardless, none have been identified to me as embracing the SP doctrine, or a reasonably similar doctrine, and performing the sacrament of fair game, or similar, in application of that doctrine. Actually, now that I’ve thought about it, the Catholic Inquisition’s deranged and cruel religious practices, which its ecclesiarchs excused and incited with deranged and cruel religious doctrines, are in some ways similar.
Although the Nazis did not determine to call Nazism a religion, their Jewish doctrine can be shown to be similar in important ways to the Scientologists’ SP doctrine. Numerous people have observed this similarity, and I have written about it a number of times. In any case, the Scientologists have never identified either any religious communities, or political movements or parties, or any other kinds of groups, with practices similar to fair game proceeding from a doctrine similar to SP.
I very much doubt that any court, other than Scientology’s own kangaroo prosecutions, has ever recognized the legality of the Scientologists victimizing the SP class pursuant to the SP doctrine, or recognized victimizing such persons as a fundamental right. It is true that the Scientologists act as if it is their fundamental right, and they want society and society’s courts to recognize this as their fundamental right. The Scientologists’ whole “ethics” system establishes, excuses, validates, includes and compels the SP doctrine; so the rulings in the cult’s courts understandably recognize the correctness and “legality,” in fact necessity, of hating and victimizing SPs. In society, however, beyond the Scientologists’ area of control, victimizing people who speak the truth about their religious experiences, knowledge or beliefs is still not a fundamental right. It is still unlawful, and still execrable.
Something else might have been judicially recognized as a fundamental right in some legal proceeding, and the Scientologists are saying or implying this judicially recognizes, and presumably ratifies, their SP doctrine and everything they’ve done targeting SPs. Despite the success the cult leaders have had over many years obtaining outrageous or unconscionable court orders, however, I have never seen a court ruling recognizing and ratifying the SP doctrine or fair game. To my knowledge, the Scientologists have not identified any such ruling in any court of law, let alone multiple such rulings in multiple courts of law.
In the Scientologists’ first lawsuit against me, in fact, the 1984 judgment is highly critical of SP and “Fair Game,” and in no way approves of these concepts or rules they are anyone’s fundamental rights.
From the evidence presented to this court in 1984, at the very least, similar conclusions can be drawn. In addition to violating and abusing its own members civil rights, the organization over the years with its “Fair Game” doctrine has harassed and abused those persons not in the Church whom it perceives as enemies.
[…]
He was declared an enemy by the Church. He believed, reasonably, that he was subject to “fair game.” The only way he could defend himself, his integrity, and his wife was to take that which was available to him and place it in a safe harbor, to wit, his lawyer’s custody.

On February 18, 1982, the Church of Scientology International issued a “Suppressive Person Declare Gerry Armstrong,” which is an official Scientology document issued against individuals who are considered as enemies of the Organization. Said Suppressive Person Declare charged that Defendant Armstrong had taken an unauthorized leave and that he was spreading destructive rumors about Senior Scientologists.
Defendant Armstrong was unaware of said Suppressive Person Declare until April of 1982. At that time a revised Declare Was issued on April 22, 1982. Said Declare charged Defendant Armstrong with 18 different “Crimes and High Crimes and Suppressive Acts Against the Church.” The charges included theft, juggling accounts, obtaining loans on money under false pretenses, promulgating false information about the Church, its founder, and members, and other untruthful allegations designed to make Defendant Armstrong an appropriate subject of the Scientology “Fair Game Doctrine.” Said Doctrine allows any suppressive person to be “tricked, cheated, lied to, sued, or destroyed.”
[…]
After the within suit was filed on August 2, 1982, Defendant Armstrong was the subject of harassment, including being followed and surveilled by individuals who admitted employment by Plaintiff; being assaulted by one of these individuals; being struck bodily by a car driven by one of these individuals; having two attempts made by said individuals apparently to involve Defendant Armstrong in a freeway automobile accident; having said individuals come onto Defendant Armstrong’s property, spy in his windows, create disturbances, and upset his neighbors.
—Scientology vs. Armstrong, Los Angeles Superior Court case no. C 420153 affirmed on appeal, 232 Cal.App.3d 1060, 283 Cal.Rptr. 917
It is true that the tortured rulings in the Headley v. Scientology case in US District Court recognized Miscavige and his religious enforcers’ right to do pretty much what they wanted with the Scientologists under them. The leaders simply have to say their actions, which outside of Scientology could be crimes, are doctrinally motivated. Pursuant to the Headley judgment, which was affirmed on appeal, they can have Scientologists locked up, hunted down, brought back, force-labored, rights-stripped, and in other ways physically and psychologically abused.
So far, however, I know of no court ruling that authorizes Miscavige, his enforcers, or any Scientologists to do these things to SPs, to persons outside the cult who tell the relevant truth. The Scientologists call us wogs. Wogs, or human beings, who tell the truth about Hubbard, Scientology and Scientologists are SPs. That some of us once were Scientologists makes us no less human beings, or for that matter wogs.
The Scientologists and their lawyer colluders do claim that judicial rulings in the Scientology v. Armstrong cases mean that they can do these things to me and to persons acting in concert with me. The Scientology side’s interpretation of these rulings is that whatever the Scientologists and their colluders have done to me – black PR, threat, fair game, lawfare — is fine, and whatever they will do in the future would be fine. If I responded — told the truth in response, communicated my truthful experiences, knowledge, beliefs — the Scientology side was cleared to have me hunted down, brought back, locked up, bankrupted, stripped of my rights, and abused forever.
The subject court rulings create and enforce a condition of slavery and a slaver-slave relationship between the Scientology side and me. My side includes the persons acting in concert with me. I have shown over many years that such conditions and the orders creating them are not only unlawful by the US Constitution and laws, and violative of international human rights charters, but personally intolerable and impossible. For several years, Caroline and I have been making available the records we have from all my Scientology-related legal cases. 11
What the Scientology side is doing with its court actions and rulings against me makes the Scientologists’ actual antisocial intentions for the SP class very public, and demonstrates the extreme lengths to which they will go to make their intentions work. The Scientology side wants to silence me about my religious experiences, knowledge and beliefs, and wants to punish me for daring to speak up and tell the truth about these things.
The set of rulings that silence and ruin me all arise from the Scientology side’s lawfare enforcing certain conditions in a “contract” that supposedly settled earlier lawsuits between us. I have no doubt that these conditions are unlawful and lawfully judicially unenforceable. The Scientology side claims these conditions prohibit me from saying one word about my Scientology-related experiences or knowledge. The Scientology side says these conditions permit Scientologists and their colluders to trick, black PR and bankrupt me, and file all manner of false statements about me everywhere, without me being able to respond. That is, I am prohibited from responding as a victimized citizen could respond to his victimizers if not bound by the Scientology side’s unlawful conditions.
The Scientology side says its successful court rulings amount to a license to fair game me, a license to attack and pursue me. The Scientologists say that their court rulings punish me with imprisonment and fines for any utterance I make about my Scientology-related experiences, knowledge or beliefs. Even in self-defense or defense of others, I am prohibited, the Scientology side says, from saying one word about my Scientology-related experiences, knowledge or beliefs, which now stretch back fifty years.
The Scientology side also claims that every utterance I make about my Scientology-related experiences, knowledge or beliefs causes them fifty thousand US dollars in damages. Presumably this would be lost income from people hearing a truthful utterance about Hubbard, Scientology or Scientologists and realizing they really want no part of the untruthful cult or its untruthful cultic operators. Obviously if such an utterance kept people from being defrauded out of fifty thousand dollars by the Scientologists, one would want to get busy uttering whenever one had anything relevant to say.
While the Scientology side claims that I have to pay a penalty of fifty thousand US per utterance, no such penalty applies to Scientologists or their collaborators. The Scientologists’ contractual conditions they seek to enforce are unconscionably one-sided. The Scientologists say they have no such obligation to me, and they can libel or slander me freely, pervert my experiences or knowledge freely, and freely attack my beliefs, with impunity — without any discipline of the Scientologists.
A religion using society’s justice system to silence a person about his religious experiences, knowledge or beliefs, and to punish him, jail him, fine him and crush him, for truthfully communicating these things, while at the same time the religionists are running a global black PR campaign on him, is devilish. The religious experiences, knowledge or beliefs are nothing more than some the Scientology side insists they are unwilling to experience and must be suppressed or choked. The Scientology side’s extreme effort to silence me utterly, with no concern for anything I might say that the Scientologists might be willing to experience, evidences the extreme hatred for me.
In a sense, the Scientology side achieved exactly what the Scientologists wanted to do to me judicially; so it could be said that courts of law recognized some right to victimize me and my side. In fact, adding the color of law to this claimed legal right, courts have prostrated themselves before the Scientology side and made all sorts of orders against me that are not fair or in the public interest. The Scientology side devised a contract to create that right and claims it purchased that right. No court I know of, however, has ever recognized the victimizing of the SP class, or “fair game,” as the Scientologists’ fundamental right, or any right at all. Victimizing or fair gaming human beings in the SP class is undeniably doctrinally motivated, but it still remains unlawful.
Hubbard’s Scientology management system assigns organization functions to three areas or subsystems: “ethics,” “tech” or “technology,” and “admin” or “administration.” “Tech” includes teaching, studying and applying Scientology’s mental or psychophysical methods: “auditing” and “training.” “Admin” includes the organization’s clerical and executive requirements. Hubbard provided several definitions for “ethics:” “the rules or standards governing conduct;” “moral philosophy;” “the reason and contemplation of optimum survival.” “Ethics” was considered the senior or most important organization area or activity. He said in scripture that ethics must be in for tech to go in; meaning “out ethics” or wrong conduct prevented the “technology” from working.
In a basic and famous scriptural decree, Hubbard wrote:
The purpose of Ethics is:
TO REMOVE COUNTER-INTENTIONS FROM THE ENVIRONMENT.
And having accomplished that the purpose becomes:
TO REMOVE OTHER-INTENTIONEDNESS FROM THE ENVIRONMENT.
Thus progress can be made by all.12
The counter-intentions to the Scientologists’ intentions are observed in the words of persons telling the relevant truth about Hubbard, Scientology, Scientologists, their collaborators and their victims. This is because Scientology is a system of lies. It cannot stand against the truth. It is the intention of the Scientologists that their system of lies flourish and prosper, expand, gain acceptance, power and control; and that their enemies be silenced or destroyed. In the minds, policies and practices of the people running Scientology, the truth threatens their accomplishment of what they intend. The enemies are the persons telling it, the SPs. We are, as the Scientologists say, “CI,” and for their tech to “work,” for them to “win,” we must be removed. Scientology will never work, however, because the truth keeps right on setting people free.
