This corporation is the outgrowth of the Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundation, Inc., and the Hubbard Dianetic Foundation Inc., in which one L. Ron Hubbard was formerly an officer. On February 21, 1952 a voluntary petition in bankruptcy was filed by the Hubbard Dianetic Foundation, Inc., scheduling debt $213,394, assets $40,763. Assets of the bankrupt organization were purchased by Don G. Purcell and Purcell received permission from the court to continue operations under the previous business name. After operating for a time Purcell deemed it advisable to form a new corporation consequently February 23, 1953 chartered the Dianetic Foundation, Inc., under Kansas laws and transferred the assets to the new corporation.
Purcell, born 1908, married, native Wichita, graduated Kansas State College as engineer. Has been identified with the real estate and building business, operating as a building contractor which he continues. Currently identified with 12 building and real estate corporations, Wichita, Kansas and individually operates as [Omega] Oil Co an an oil operator. Individual worth is reported to exceed $150,000. As far as can be learned there are no intercompany relations between subject corporation and Purcell ‘s other interests.
Maloney, Jr., born 1910, married, native New York. Maloney has verbally given the following history. Graduated St. Johns College, New York, 1930. 1930-1946 employed Garven Vantel & Co Investment Co. as general office manager, New York. 1947-June 1939 factory sales-manager Hurley Machine Co, Chicago. June 1939-September 1943 District Sales manager Dictaphone Corporation, Newark, New Jersey. September 1943-September 1946 Industrial relations director Curtis Wright Corp in development and research division, Bloomfield, New Jersey. October 1946-July 1949 employed Audograph Co, New York; Inc., New York City as general sales manager. July 1949 became associated with L. Ron Hubbard in various foundations and formerly appeared as Sec-Treas Hubbard Dianetic Foundation, Inc., and President Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundation of California, Inc.
Moore is a local attorney.
OPERATION—LOCATION
Purpose of this organization is to conduct research foundation, operate a school, publish and sell books pertaining to the science of mental development. Foundation is international in scope. All sales cash. Employs 10. Rents three-story brick building, downtown section, housekeeping neat.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
March 3, 1953 Don G. Purcell, President, advised that capital was $10,000 and had been fully paid in. Assets of the corporation reported by Purcell to be $17,224 consisting of cash, books recording tapes, copyrights and publishing rights. Purcell reported no debt outstanding.
