Memorandum Re Debt To The First National Bank Of Ketchikan (October 28, 1942)

1. Prior to receipt of subject, interest was paid.
2. The difference between my former civilian pay and naval pay is considerable and obligations have not lessened while general prices have risen.
3. Only at those times when I have been on sea duty have I been able to partly reduce such indebtednesses as these and additional assignment to sea duty in the near future would aid me to repay such bills.
4. All effort has been and will be made to maintain my credit by the payment of such bills these.
