Of the millions of people living in Tampa Bay, over 300,000 of them speak Spanish, forming close to 20% of the local community around Flag.
And with many Scientologists included in that figure, we’re bringing the Neighborhood Campaign to them with the new Hispanic Flag Expansion Committee.
It started at the Captain FSO’s Hispanic Field Briefing. The first meeting featured Latin music, dancing and the appointment of new In-Charges for each sector of field activity.
They immediately got to work, hitting the airwaves to promote Dianetics seminars, raising awareness of psychiatric abuse through CCHR, spreading the message to youth to be drug-free and knocking on doors to get Scientologists new and old onto the Basics.
One of the first projects the Hispanic Expansion Committee did was a Spanish Dianetics Seminar for the people of West Tampa. The feedback was phenomenal—new public were interviewed over the radio airwaves and shared their wins from their experience with Dianetics. As one of the attendees said, “I feel very happy here. I don’t know what happened around me, but I don’t want to leave from this place. It’s magical.” 1
