Dear Sir:

Prior to my receipt of an official letter regarding my note which you hold, I paid the interest on this note.

Additional payments will be forthcoming as I am able to make them.

You are again informed that the reason of non-payment of this note is the sharp decrease in pay which I was willing to take to help my country. Until this wards ended and I can resume my former profession I can make only small and irregular payments.

I assure you that I am doing my best to settle all outstanding obligations.
