Re: ALLIED SCIENTISTS OF THE WORLD

A number of Bureaus are receiving inquiries on the subject resulting from a large mailing soliciting membership in the Allied Scientists of the World at a fee of $25.00.

The literature accompanying the mailing is rather vague, and in clarification, we are told that the purpose of the organization is to band together all scientists of note and to place a scientific organization under the United Nations; to assist civil defense; to construct and stock a library (in Arizona) of all scientific technology in order to preserve it against atomic attack.

We are advised “The Allied Scientists of the World is sponsored by the Hubbard Dianetics Foundation. Membership or fellowship in the Allied Scientists of the World does not imply any endorsement of Dianetics. Dianetics was a necessary development to make ASW possible.”

Names given to us as the Board of Governors and Board of Regents are as follows:

Don G. Purcell — identified as a Wichita home builder
Lafayette Ron Hubbard — identified as principal of Hubbard Dianetics Research Institute
John W. Maloney — identified as “general manager of a large dictaphone company in the East”

These men identified as on the staff of Hubbard Dianetics Institute [:]

Ross Lamereaux
David McClean
Morris Kamens

Other names which have been identified with the local office:

Perry A, Chapdelaine — connected with Hubbard in Wichita but whose luggage had “R. R. Lomereaux, Chicago 66, Ill.” name tag.
Miss Mary Ross — said to have left suddenly for “somewhere in Okla.”
Miss Patricia Gallagher — formerly of Brooklyn, New York
Miss Agnes Dobson — whereabouts unknown

Because of certain factors connected with this promotion, several federal and State agencies have indicated interest, and we wish to pull in loose strings in order to compile a complete report on the subject.

Will you please check your files to determine if you have any information on the individuals listed, or any information on Hubbard or his Dianetics (other than the National Bureau report) which would be of value. If you have information of importance, please wire Denver collect and follow with air mail letter. If you have no information, please do not answer. Please do not use the above information for report or bulletin. We will issue a complete report to all Bureaus at the end of the week.
