On November 27, 1978, [?] contacted by a Special Agent of the FBI concerning a telegram that he had sent to the FBI in Washington, D. C., concerning information that he might have about the Church of Scientology harassing members and possibly not allowing them to leave their organization. [?] stated at this time that he had originally contacted the FBI after reading of the Jim Jones group in Guyana.

Complainant contacted 3:45 PM, NOVEMBER 27, 1978. STATED INFORMATION HE HAS RELATES TO CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY [?] ADVISED [?] CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY WOULD HARASS MEMBERS AND NOT ALLOW THEM TO LEAVE THE GROUP. [?] READ OF THE JIM JONES GROUP, HE FELT THE FBI SHOULD ALSO BE APPRISED OF ACTIVITIES AS HE INTERPRETED THEM CONCERNING THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY.
